Bobby Mackey's
(First Visit)
Best Evidence
Hello Wonderful People
When a show features a place called Bobby Mackey's Music World you are almost guaranteed to have one of the best episodes of that season. This holds true for the shows: The haunted (a now cancelled) show that (aired on Discovery channel back in 2005 through 2008) did an episode on this, Jerry Springer interviewed the owner (Bobby) his wife (Janet) their employee (Carl Lawson) who was possessed and went through a six hour done by Reverend Glen Cole which was aired on the show, Geraldo Rivera interviewed those same people. Aside from news shows, National Geographic Channel did a documentary series called “Is It Real?” which featured the location. A two part live event on livescifi.tv (which resulted in numerous malevolent EVPs and spirit activity (Personally I anxiously await the day the world gets to see Ghost Hunters go there, I am curious to see what they capture there.)
Ghost Adventures have been to Bobby Mackey's twice, physically, and the club was featured on a recent episode in an attempt to open a 'portal' between California, Nevada, and Kentucky (Winchester House in California, Old Washoe Club in Virginia City, Nevada and Bobby Mackey's in Wilder Kentucky.)
This place was the very first place aired for the Ghost Adventures series. Directly following this Houghton Mansion supposedly haunted by the mansion owner, his daughter and the driver Mr. Widderson who committed suicide after surviving the accident due to guilt. The first season was short but intense featuring the Edinburgh Vaults and an abandoned Psychiatric Hospital in New Jersey, the trio wanted to make an impact on the world with this first season and did so with those three episodes.
The history for Bobby Mackey's is quite dark, it was originally a slaughter house in the 19th century, then a roadhouse, it also has rumors of satanic occult activity (Pearl Bryan was killed by her boyfriend and his friend as a Satanic sacrifice and once the two were caught they vowed to haunt everyone involved in prosecuting the case) a dancer named Johanna committed suicide after he father murdered her lover. The basement is quite possibly home to the "gateway to hell" most likely because that's where the supposed satanic murder ritual took place. (In a well that is located in the basement. The public knowledge of the haunting has gotten to a point that there is a sign hanging up warning that the staff and management are not responsible for any actions of the ghost/spirits on the property.
Evidence and stuff:
If Carl will go into the place and he was possessed and went through a six hour possession, the wife's story automatically looks like child's play. That sounds pretty harsh but this man went through hell (whether or not you believe in possessions and exorcisms, you can’t deny it takes a lot of effort to keep a lie going for six whole hours.) So the wife was pushed down the stairs and whatnot then saying oh I don’t want to talk about it, when poor Carl should probably be having mental breakdowns at the thought of even having to discuss this again… I think this lady should have toughened up and spoke on camera.
This top list of best evidence is going to consist of three things that don’t particularly have an order. They’re all equally amazing and shocking
First piece of evidence is the EMF meter reaching a ten. For the start of a paranormal show an EMF spike of a ten is rather high and quite scary. As they continue their adventures, this number is blown way out of the water, but putting those episodes aside, that was crazy.
The second piece of evidence is an apparition caught by the fridge in the basement. I’ll admit this was rather hard to see but once you do it’s rather freaky. Given the history of the basement seeing any physical form of a ghost is rather horrifying.
The scratches on Zak's back that he obtained in the basement after provoking whatever was down there. This didn’t happen once, but at least three different times, however you clearly see it once they didn’t have time to take clear cut pictures of the other times it happened. Personally if there’s history of demonic activity there’s no logic that points to provoking a demon as being a smart answer. I’m not saying Zak got what he deserved, but he did have it coming. You can’t just waltz in to a place like the basement of Bobby Mackey’s and start calling the demonic forces out and expect not to be attacked or harmed when innocent people who aren’t even ghost hunting find themselves being attacked. However this episode like I mentioned before is how they chose to make their impression on the world. It probably scared and traumatized some people, while others (like me) were completely hooked after seeing this in previous shows.
People are free to believe whatever they want, but this place is hard to ignore. So many shows, so many stories, and so much bad history, you can’t say everyone in it is lying or staging it. Sure you can watch A Haunting and say oh it’s just a reenactment it’s probably not completely true, but then when other shows start covering it and there’s even a sign on the building stating how they are not held responsible for whatever paranormal events take place while you’re there, don’t even try to say people are just crazy. There’s something to Bobby Mackey’s that isn’t just hype or a bunch of crazy people telling stories to scare people. Something is really happening in that building and it’s scary, right out of a horror movie scary only it’s real. Yet here I am one of the most squeamish people in the world and I want to go to Bobby Mackey’s. I might avoid the basement though… I’d definitely go into the club itself for a ghost hunt.
Be safe trick or treating and Happy Halloween!
