Ghost Adventures 100 Episode

Ghost Adventures 100th Episode:

The Exorcist House

Ghost Adventures reached their 100th episode milestone. They've also been in their eighth season for a while now. It has been decent; not too bad not too excited but we're only eight episodes into said season. The place that happened to be investigating on their 100th episode was the house that inspired the popular movie The Exorcist.

A bit of history first, it's based off a book that is based off of events that took place in 1949. It started in Maryland and ended in St. Louis where the exorcism took place. A boy who has remained unnamed even after all these years, experienced demonic possession and as various sources feel the need to state, he was from a troubled home. Some details are sketchy and vary in places but cutting it down to size those facts remain the same.
The movie plot is different obviously, but it had plenty of rumors surrounding it like deaths before the film release and a fire that took place on set. It was probably not related to the fact that they were filming a movie about an actual event, but it's still fun to look at some of the facts found on the internet. She mentioned the whole 'the kid and his grandmother were playing with an Ouija board and that's how the demon possessed him' story. There may be variations on this throughout the internet but bottom line a demon showed up and possessed the boy and might have told them to go to St. Louis, or they had relatives in St. Louis and thought maybe a vacation might help their son's behavior, insert theory here. There was a different show, unrelated to Ghost Adventures that mentioned the boy having Louis carved into his body and for the life of me I don't remember what it was, when I watched it, and what channel it was on.

The Exorcist house episode was pretty interesting. It dealt with the possibility of demons again and with their history with demonic hauntings, and the great niece of the priest who did the exorcism stating she knows it was real (the 1949 exorcism) and refused to be interviewed anywhere near the home were pretty chilling starters to the whole episode. I feel the balance of interviews and pre-investigation theatrics to set up the whole tone of the episode leaned more towards the interviews and reminding you that, this is where one of the most famous exorcisms in history took place and there may be a demon still here but it could just be residual as well. It's not that the investigation lacked in evidence because they received some very compelling evidence, I just felt like I had to wait forever to get to the investigation, and then once the investigation happened it didn't hold up to the hype. I do like how this episode really shows how much they've grown as a team and how they've 'grown up' when it comes to this case. In the earlier seasons Zak was very full charge guns blazing when it came to demons and it was very reckless. However they were still trying to re-invite a demon into a house which is just a stupid and reckless as going in guns blazing.

I haven't given praise where praise is due. They did get good EVPs and had an intense spirit box session. Those were the two that stood out to me. I disagree with the use of the Ouija board but they weren't necessarily using it as indented. It was just sitting there as a trigger object to get the voices. However, the Ouija board might have had something attached to it because later on they interviewed the guy they got the board from and he said he saw a shadow figure in his house after previously using the board. So was it the residual energy or actually active energy of the house or was it something brought in with the board the whole time? Either way they got some pretty good evidence whether it was the spirits they were trying to initially contact or different ones.

I know they can't always get definite answers on investigations. Paranormal investigations don't work by walking in and demanding something to happen and it always happens once you tell it to do something. Also even if you did a live playback there's still no way to know if you have a definite yes or no as to the thing you want answered about the haunting. It's rather disappointing that they went in and got half of an answer but they did their best on their limited time schedule. This episode wasn't a complete failure, it was rather successful, but I couldn't felt but feel slightly disappointed. I can't put my finger on what disappointed me about the whole thing. Normally I know what disappoints me about an episode of anything, not this one. So I'll give it an okay approval. It wasn't mind blowing, while it did have some mind blowing evidence.

Creepy or Weird Moments from Kamen Rider Kiva

Creepy or Weird Moments

From Kamen Rider Kiva

***This Contains Spoilers!***

There was a fair amount of creepy in Kamen Rider Kiva, however I had to narrow it down because if I discussed all of them, this would end up longer than it is. I started typing this as part of my other review of my thoughts on the series but then it soon evolved into something else so here I am now listing some of the creepy or weird moments from Kamen Rider Kiva. This is in no particular order.

*Sorry for how late this is, Hurricane Sandy and NaNo: National Novel Writing Month is this month. So my halloween stuff will be coming out sporadically throughout November. This will be updated as I go back and finish my initial review of the series*

Ryo Itoya and his little side kick Noboru Kuramae

The one guy who personifies creepy in this series has to be the Spider Fangire known as Ryo Itoya in his human form.

He kidnaps Yuri and tries to marry her or something and then when he fails at life with Yuri, 20 years later he starts obsessing over Megumi, Yuri’s daughter. I know their human forms don’t age but if he was in his twenties or older while Yuri was alive then he’s about twenty years older than Megumi and he could be old enough to be her father or her grandfather. That doesn’t stop him because he kidnaps her as well and tries to do the same thing he did to Yuri to Megumi, but he fails at life again.

I’m not exactly sure if he lives here

 But I wouldn’t be surprised

If this was the place he called home.

Brief Side Note: Looking back on Kamen Rider Kiva everything makes sense. There’s a lot of thinking to be done after the conclusion of the show but Kiva is like a jigsaw puzzle one of those complicated ones with like a thousand pieces and they’re all tiny pieces. You just have to put them together.

I went on that random tangent because it helps explain the Spider Fangire. I literally had no idea why he was important other than to be annoying and creepy. I thought he had no storyline and I completely forgot when they killed him off. It doesn’t help the creepy and annoying but it helped solve the ‘no story’ issue.

Anyways, back to the creepy…  There are random times when he’ll laugh… or something with one of his two puppets or he’ll have both on while randomly laughing.

From Episode Six when Ryo kidnapped Yuri.

As if Ryo wasn’t creepy enough with his obsession with Megumi (who he kidnaps because he never got over Yuri, her mother) he acquired a sidekick at some point.

He looks harmless doesn’t he…?

Well this harmless looking dude is actually the Sheep Fangire (known as Noboru Kuramae in his human form) and he’s obsessed with Megumi too. Ryo recruited him to stalk Megumi so because he wanted to marry her. However since this guy was obsessed with her as well… he got jealous and decided to stop him… only to tell Megumi that he’s going to marry her.

And then this happens…

He wants a soulless bride, so his wife would be a zombie. He wants to marry a human, kill her, and then turn her into a zombie. Best plan ever. As usual this guy fails and is defeated in episode six. But that’s not the end of the creepy spider guy. He lasts for another four episodes, (eleven and twelve then he disappears until episodes twenty-five and twenty-six) but his creepiness increases with each episode.

This happens in Episode 11:

Followed by this scene...

That god damned laugh, he always does it but no idea why he
has to laugh so obnoxiously...
It doesn't affect Nago though...

He tries to kill Wataru (while he's still in Kiva form)...

Only to reappear in Episode 12 to do this:

And then Nago does what we all wanted to do when we first heard Ryo’s laugh…

Bitch slapped…

In the last two episodes he’s alive for, Bishop discovered he’s obsessed with Megumi… and tells him to do what he has to do in order to complete his task of destroying the ‘traitor.’  I’ll get to that bit of hypocrisy in a little bit but first this clip.

This is really because I found it hilarious...

One last thing... did anyone else notice the letters S-E-X is spelled out... sort of... it could also be S-O-X but I really think it's sex...

Jiro: AKA the Cup Sniffer

Jiro is one of the arms monsters in 2008 storyline, but before he became a weapon to help Kiva he had an important role in the 1986 storyline. He is the last of the wolfen race because Rook killed everyone in one of his time plays.

To be fair to Jiro the cup sniffing could be explained by the fact that he feeds off humans as well. He targeted customers to the Café mald'amour and began eating them because he’s not really a human. However that doesn’t make the cup sniffing any less creepy!

And the only reason he cares for Yuri is because he wants to use her to repopulate the wolfen race. Well does he plan on having interbreeding relationships? His offspring will be half human as well as half wolf. Unless the Wolfen race is half human as well then it really wouldn’t matter if Yuri had his babies. I’m over analyzing this.

I had a great joke for this picture
However I couldn't find the 'song'
I wanted to put with this.
Sexy and I know/I'm too sexy is too easy...
I'm going to describe it the best way I can...
when people go like Innnsstt innssst innssst when pretending to strip.
That's what I wanted to put that to but
I had no idea how to find it... and I tried for like an hour...

Giant Chandelier

So at some point in Kamen Rider Kiva… this happens…

I don’t know what that is, I don’t remember why it happened and I don’t really want to know the answers to either of those issues. It just shows up awkwardly during a fight. No it’s not explained as to why this thing just shows up.

Bishop: Swallowtail Fangire

My first impression of this guy was that he’s one of those creepy but kind of hot guys. Don’t ask why that’s just my impression… and then later on in the series… this happens…

If that’s not creepy enough then here’s another picture.

This creepy side comes out because Bishop decided to kill Mio. Taiga (the prince soon to be king) planned on marrying her, however she loved Wataru. It was stated in earlier episodes that the ceremony between the king and queen isn’t really about love it’s because well the Fangire race needs to survive and has to have a king. Well Maya, Wataru and Taiga’s mother had two babies one with the former King and one with Otoya. They’re both qualified to be King but Wataru initially refused… until Mio died. Stuff happened and then Taiga found out what Bishop did and he rightfully kicked the shit out of Bishop. Then Bishop threw a temper tantrum and he wanted to be king because he couldn’t see why Taiga treated him like crap after serving him for so long… That was where I stopped feeling any sort of attraction and realized he’s an idiot.

I can't help but think that some of the motives for people doing a complete change in personality and what not are completely stupid. Seriously Kengo toughened up because he made situations a million times worse than they already were. Bishop flips shit because he killed Mio and he knew he loved her. He saw how angry Taiga got when he thought Wataru killed Mio did he believe by telling Taiga the truth he'd be off the hook? If so then he's an even bigger idiot than I thought.

To Be Continued....

Ghost Adventures Ancient Ram Inn (Part Two)

Ancient
Ram
Inn
(Part 2 Best Evidence)

(Aaron, Zak, John Humphries, and Nick)

As for the previous episode of Ghost Adventures I did to save time here’s another top three best evidence from the Ancient Ram Inn Episode of Ghost Adventures, remember they appear in no particular order and are my opinions.

First piece of evidence happened during the walk through Mr. Humphries was attacked as well as the audio problems and sudden headache Zak got. Despite the small slip up Mr. Humphries made claiming that things bother him all the time while in the house but then later on when he is being attacked he says it’s never happened before, the audio issue and the sudden pain in Zak’s head is enough to back up the event that something indeed was happening to Mr. Humphries.

The second piece of evidence were the negative EVP’s one captures near the stairway which was a demonic growl, the creepy voice saying it’s Coming, and the laugh heard in the Witch’s Room.  There were other EVP’s that happened but I picked these to mention despite the other’s being just as good as the other audio clips captured. They stand out the most and are borderline scary making you probably consider sleeping with the lights on at night.

The third piece of evidence is the shadow figure captured on Aaron’s camera. Although hard to see and easy to miss despite having the two arrows pointing to the exact location of it, once you see it the figure sticks in your mind for quite a long time. They don’t often catch amazing visual evidence other than orbs and mist however when the mist has a defined mannerism about the way it moves and almost forms a figure is when it becomes insane. While this doesn’t have any clear cut qualities, its sudden flash of movement is enough to startle some people.

Happy Halloween! See you all next year!

BlutEngel

BlutEngel

(I am convinced by this picture
he's quite possibly a player...
and he gets away with it
because no one seems to mind.)

Hello wonderful people!

My last Halloween review, and this is what I shall end it with... I love vampires, I think they are quite sexy and you know what I don't care what other people say they're supposed to be. I absolutely love how they can be 'human' and full of lust all the while they're waiting for the perfect time to suck the blood right of their pray.... who happens to be a human.

BlutEngel means Blood Angel in German, what's a blood angel? A vampire and if you don't believe me, go to Google Images then search either Chris Pohl or BlutEngel and scroll through the pictures then come tell me I'm wrong...

The band is a 'Future Pop' music group formed in 1998 by Chris Pohl (as previously mentioned) the group was formed after he had to leave Seelenkrank for to legal drama that everyone loves so very much. Their music style is electronic (obviously) covering topics such as Love (including the tragic romance of vampires as well as the more animal aspects of desire says Wikipedia, and their song lyrics) as well as death, etc. The first ever BlutEngel album was released in 1999 called Child of Glass which captured the previous fans of Seelenkrank (and/or Terminal Choice or on of Chris's other projects) as well as bringing in new ones once it gained popularity in the club scene due to songs like "Weg Zy mir" and "Beauty of Suffering" (Kati Roloff and Nina Bendigjeit were the female vocalist for this album.) After the mass success of Child of Glass, things in the world of BlutEngel got quiet.

That is until 2001 when their second album Seelenschmerz was released. The lineup had changed for this album, Nina had her own solo career and Gini Martin joined Kati's side for the female vocals. This album contains the song that was (I think) the first song I ever heard on AOL's Gothic radio, Bloody Pleasures, other catchy songs on the album are "Soul of Ice, Children of the night, Seelenschmerz, and Der Spiegel." The album also got them enough popularity to perform live for the first time in the two years the band had been together. The concert took place at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen on June 1st 2001 in Leipzig in front of 10,000 fans.

I love this album so much; I listen to it more than any other album that I have (which is like three) but point being it's a real gem. I'm sure it has it's downsides but everything in life has its negative sides. Some people might disagree with that opinion because of the following album released in 2002, Angel Dust.

New studio with new technical opportunities as well as new vocal scope (Kati and Gini left the band and were replaced with Constance Rudert and Eva Pölzing) allowed for the high quality production of the Angel Dust album. It received a huge feedback placing 58th on the top 100 albums in its first week because of songs like "Angel of the Night" as well as "Vampire Romance" which boosted their popularity.

2004 saw the release of Demon kiss as well as DVD called Live Lines (later in 2005) as well as Eva Pölzing being replaced by Ulrike Goldmann which led to a sound change for the band. The sound change threw off some older fans but some other people liked it, Chris was busy with Terminal Choice (his other project) and only had time to release The Oxiding Angel to introduce Ulrike to the world. The rest of the singles released for the next two years focused more on a pop sound until their long awaited fifth album Labyrinth was released in 2007 (which was followed by a small tour.) Constance stayed with the band until 2010 and was replaced by Steffi Weingarten.

Three albums has been released since 2007, one in 2009 called Schwarzes Eis, in 2011 came Tränenherz and later this year saw the release of the tenth anniversary of Seelenschmerz called, Seelenschmerz 10th anniversary.

Chris Pohl is the sexy looking front man for the band as I mentioned before, he embraces looking like a vampire and well liked writing songs involving vampires. However, he cut his hair at some point and it looked weird. He's grown it out more but shaved the side of his head and it still looks slightly weird but he still has the contacts. Personally my favorite hair style is in the video for their first live performance, however that is not my favorite live performance at all. It's far from it...

Listening to them perform Bloody Pleasures, (my favorite song I prefer the extended addition over the normal one) almost made me stop listening to them because of how horrible his vocals are for that song. However I thought that was too critical considering it's their first live performance so I gave them another chance and kept listening. There's the flaw in the what-seemed-perfect band. They had a rather rocky start when it came to Bloody Pleasures. Their DVD Moments of Our Lives (released in 2008 which contains rather ADHD editing effects as well as special lighting effects and whatnot) adds special effects that would give a normal person a seizure, however Chris's movements are possibly the most epic movements ever. He has a presence about him and it enticing... then he opens his mouth to sing Bloody Pleasures and I mute it because his voice is nowhere deep enough to sing that song. What happened is someone got a little vocal effect happy in the studio and went crazy with that song adding multiple layers and tones to song that aren't really there and making magic out of something that might not have been so magical. Eva singing I really don't like her voice, it bothers me because there are no female vocals on that song in the first place so she should stop trying to sing. I shall equate this to the abomination of a remix released on the Best of Breaking Benjamin album. That girl Velora, is not Ben Burnley she is in no way vocally capable of producing the impact that Ben does when I listen to him so when she is singing over him and trying to sound like him while having her voice put through some kind of filter, it caused my ears to damn near bleed.

That's what this girl is doing on Moments of Our Lives however both male and female vocalists aren't up to any standard, vocal wise. They do know how to put on a show. I could watch Chris perform (without singing) for hours and be entertained, he just needs to do something about that voice issue with bloody pleasures because it's obviously pushing some boundaries that he's not prepared for.

Take exhibit A: The entire opening of Bloody Pleasures until he starts singing. That whole opening part right there, completely amazing my eyes are entertained and have received their fair share of eye candy. Then they sing and it makes me cringe but there are breaks with Chris’s dramatic movements and I am happy again.

(I want a dress like this)

Exhibit B: Children Of the Night the first two minutes of it his voice isn't that bad again vocal filters need to be a little less prominent in their songs I know, how could I pick on BlutEngel for heavy use of vocal effects when I damn near worship the ground Rudy Ratzinger walks on, simple they perform live so I can judge what they sound like live whereas I have no idea what Rudy sounds like live because he doesn't perform live. (As of yet, I am keeping my fingers crossed though.) Another thing, I wish I was the dancer for BlutEngel, it might be the slight vampire fetish I have but I would absolutely love to at least have him pretend to be vampire like and at least nibble on my neck. Yeah I think Chris is hot because he looks like a vampire I'm sorry, he's a sexy man.

Downside time, that girl is annoying and needs to not sing. I really don't like her voice; it kills the song for me. I can stand Chris's voice but not hers. It's not Constance (the girl with the red hair) it's the girl with the black (Eva I am assuming) Constance is fairly good at singing whereas Eva sounds like she is trying entirely too hard.

My last thoughts on the band, they're not great but they're not bad. They're okay which is okay but I'd personally like to see more amazing things from them. Who knows, they could pull a reverse Wumpscut and become completely epic. (Wumpscut shall receive a review later on for now it's BlutEngel's turn.) As hard as it was to not obsess over Chris Pohl looking as amazing as he does, I had to give myself some room to gush over his “vampireness.”

This is Pugsly hoping you all had a safe and sugar filled Halloween!

See you all again next year!

Ghost Adventures Season One Episode One Best Evidence

Bobby Mackey's
(First Visit)
Best Evidence

Hello Wonderful People

When a show features a place called Bobby Mackey's Music World you are almost guaranteed to have one of the best episodes of that season. This holds true for the shows: The haunted (a now cancelled) show that (aired on Discovery channel back in 2005 through 2008) did an episode on this, Jerry Springer interviewed the owner (Bobby) his wife (Janet) their employee (Carl Lawson) who was possessed and went through a six hour done by Reverend Glen Cole which was aired on the show, Geraldo Rivera interviewed those same people. Aside from news shows, National Geographic Channel did a documentary series called “Is It Real?” which featured the location. A two part live event on livescifi.tv (which resulted in numerous malevolent EVPs and spirit activity (Personally I anxiously await the day the world gets to see Ghost Hunters go there, I am curious to see what they capture there.)

Ghost Adventures have been to Bobby Mackey's twice, physically, and the club was featured on a recent episode in an attempt to open a 'portal' between California, Nevada, and Kentucky (Winchester House in California, Old Washoe Club in Virginia City, Nevada and Bobby Mackey's in Wilder Kentucky.)

This place was the very first place aired for the Ghost Adventures series. Directly following this Houghton Mansion supposedly haunted by the mansion owner, his daughter and the driver Mr. Widderson who committed suicide after surviving the accident due to guilt. The first season was short but intense featuring the Edinburgh Vaults and an abandoned Psychiatric Hospital in New Jersey, the trio wanted to make an impact on the world with this first season and did so with those three episodes.

The history for Bobby Mackey's is quite dark, it was originally a slaughter house in the 19th century, then a roadhouse, it also has rumors of satanic occult activity (Pearl Bryan was killed by her boyfriend and his friend as a Satanic sacrifice and once the two were caught they vowed to haunt everyone involved in prosecuting the case) a dancer named Johanna committed suicide after he father murdered her lover. The basement is quite possibly home to the "gateway to hell" most likely because that's where the supposed satanic murder ritual took place. (In a well that is located in the basement. The public knowledge of the haunting has gotten to a point that there is a sign hanging up warning that the staff and management are not responsible for any actions of the ghost/spirits on the property.

Evidence and stuff:

If Carl will go into the place and he was possessed and went through a six hour possession, the wife's story automatically looks like child's play. That sounds pretty harsh but this man went through hell (whether or not you believe in possessions and exorcisms, you can’t deny it takes a lot of effort to keep a lie going for six whole hours.) So the wife was pushed down the stairs and whatnot then saying oh I don’t want to talk about it, when poor Carl should probably be having mental breakdowns at the thought of even having to discuss this again… I think this lady should have toughened up and spoke on camera.
This top list of best evidence is going to consist of three things that don’t particularly have an order. They’re all equally amazing and shocking
First piece of evidence is the EMF meter reaching a ten. For the start of a paranormal show an EMF spike of a ten is rather high and quite scary. As they continue their adventures, this number is blown way out of the water, but putting those episodes aside, that was crazy.
The second piece of evidence is an apparition caught by the fridge in the basement. I’ll admit this was rather hard to see but once you do it’s rather freaky. Given the history of the basement seeing any physical form of a ghost is rather horrifying.
The scratches on Zak's back that he obtained in the basement after provoking whatever was down there. This didn’t happen once, but at least three different times, however you clearly see it once they didn’t have time to take clear cut pictures of the other times it happened. Personally if there’s history of demonic activity there’s no logic that points to provoking a demon as being a smart answer. I’m not saying Zak got what he deserved, but he did have it coming. You can’t just waltz in to a place like the basement of Bobby Mackey’s and start calling the demonic forces out and expect not to be attacked or harmed when innocent people who aren’t even ghost hunting find themselves being attacked. However this episode like I mentioned before is how they chose to make their impression on the world. It probably scared and traumatized some people, while others (like me) were completely hooked after seeing this in previous shows.

People are free to believe whatever they want, but this place is hard to ignore. So many shows, so many stories, and so much bad history, you can’t say everyone in it is lying or staging it. Sure you can watch A Haunting and say oh it’s just a reenactment it’s probably not completely true, but then when other shows start covering it and there’s even a sign on the building stating how they are not held responsible for whatever paranormal events take place while you’re there, don’t even try to say people are just crazy. There’s something to Bobby Mackey’s that isn’t just hype or a bunch of crazy people telling stories to scare people. Something is really happening in that building and it’s scary, right out of a horror movie scary only it’s real. Yet here I am one of the most squeamish people in the world and I want to go to Bobby Mackey’s. I might avoid the basement though… I’d definitely go into the club itself for a ghost hunt.

Be safe trick or treating and Happy Halloween!
